1863 Letter Home to His Aunt and Uncle Courtesy of  Richard Newton

*In the letter he tells of the regiment being formed, his participation in the battle of Shiloh, going on to fight in the siege at Corinth, Miss., his thoughts on arming the negroes, his desire for peace and to get back home to his family in Davis Co. Iowa.
